PERSONAL BIO

Born and raised in Arkansas, I began my career in the securities industry in 1986 after being recruited from Peat, Marwick, Mitchell & Co. (now KPMG) by Stephens. In 1996, Morgan Keegan recruited me to Memphis. Twenty-seven years later, I remain a proud Memphian!

I have always enjoyed learning, which may explain why I’ve held a variety of positions within the industry. I was part of a team that started a mutual fund company; I’ve managed information technology for an investment firm; and I’ve served as chief operating officer of the retail division of a regional brokerage firm.

I’ve been a retail financial advisor since 2008, most recently serving as a producing branch manager for a local Memphis firm. Undoubtedly, serving my clients as their financial advisor has been and is my favorite role in this industry. I truly enjoy helping people.

My greatest achievement in life, however, is marrying Ann, my wife of 44 years, and raising three wonderful sons. Watching our sons grow and be successful in their careers has been such a rewarding experience. In return, they have provided my wife and me with nine grandchildren. My wife and I love to travel, which is a good thing, as our grandchildren live in Helena, Arkansas; Santa Monica, California; and Singapore.

Outside of work and family, my favorite activity is participating in triathlons. I came to the sport late in life, racing in my first triathlon at age 60. I completed my first full Ironman Triathlon two years later.

Overall, I consider myself a happy person, fortunate to have a wonderful family, an enjoyable career and good health. That’s why I feel an obligation to make the best of every day.
