MARK R. LOFT
WEALTH ADVISOR
Though Mark has been part of the investment world for nearly 40 years, its complexity and innate rhythm still fascinate him as much as when he entered the profession. He began his investment career in financial services and portfolio management in 1987 at Dean Witter Reynolds, rising through other national firms, including B. Riley Wealth, before joining Alia in 2024.
Mark earned a Bachelor of Science in Chemical Engineering from Christian Brothers College in Memphis and worked as an engineer in the U.S. and Germany before becoming a financial advisor. With a dedicated spirit to serving people in all areas of life, Mark is a member of the National Academy of Recording Arts and Sciences and the Memphis Hightailers Bicycle Club, among other organizations. He also is an award-winning photographer and volunteer DJ at the St. Jude Marathon and other area charity events.

PERSONAL BIO
A native Memphian, I graduated from then Christian Brothers College, now Christian Brothers University, with a degree in chemical engineering. I worked for six years as an engineer in the U.S. and Germany before becoming an investment advisor. My nearly 40-year career as an advisor continues with Alia. I love this small-office atmosphere with the substantial, big-firm capabilities of LPL Financial supporting us.
Throughout my career I’ve been fascinated by the complexity and simultaneous rhythm of the investment world. I think of myself as a student of the stock market, and I’m always learning more about it. I love talking about it and using that ever-growing knowledge and experience to help others work toward their financial goals.
An age-old question asked by many goes something like this: Are you a numbers guy or a word guy, a creative or a realist, right-brained or left-brained? I’m all of the above. Being a classically trained pianist from age 7 and an award-winning photographer with an engineering degree, plus two careers largely spent problem-solving, all provide me with a unique, multifaceted way of understanding the investment world.
One good thing to emerge from the Covid pandemic was the reality of remote work. On any given day you may find me in the office, working from home or at the lake house. You’ll always find me working with strong, black coffee and music in the background. Bach cello concertos one day, jazz from Charlie Haden and Keith Jarrett the next, but never rap, country or opera!
I try to stay healthy on my bicycle. I’ve loved that wind-in-your-face feeling all my life. Ted (Cashion) and I have cycled together the last 10 years and I do my best to keep up with him. Two new grandsons in the last three years have added untold joy to my already well-lived life.
It’s good to be here at Alia.
