PERSONAL BIO

I’m a very structured, very organized person both in career and in my personal life. I have a process-driven mindset and I’m very detail-oriented. I like to get all of the information in front of me...and then take a step back and reassess. I’ve grown up in the finance industry since an internship in college followed by diving right into the working world here, and I really do think it is a mix of nature and on- the-job experience that guides how I approach my business and our clients. I would also say I’m good at reading a room, having had many experiences in my 15 year career in finance thus far. I enjoy a schedule and a routine, even on the weekends. My husband Martin and I have a Bichon Frise, Louie, who keeps us in line...and on schedule!

I grew up always knowing that I was adopted. In fact, my parents used to tell me a bedtime story about a little girl who was chosen specifically for her family… and that little girl was me! I think this knowledge added to my security and confidence; I’m a very happy person. I believe in forward thinking and always learning.

I have always admired my aunt. My mother passed away when I was 15, and my aunt stepped in to be there for me and act as a mentor since that early age. She has always been there for me in terms of guidance, and we have a very strong bond. When I was younger, I didn’t know what I wanted to be when I grew up. It was my aunt who actually steered me on this path; it was her influence and interest in her own investments that drew me to the finance and investing world. During my time in the Fogelman College of Business & Economics at the University of Memphis, I fell in love with my finance classes, especially the time value of money, and I realized that finance and being able to work with people along with the business side of financial planning fit my personality.

I fully embrace the idea of a life well lived. This includes a balance between the personal and professional. I love growing and expanding Alia and guiding our clients while at the same time nurturing a rewarding home life with Martin. I also want to expand our dog family… nudge, nudge to my loving husband…! I also really love to spend time with Martin and Louie, even if we’re just hanging out at home and eating a pizza.
